GOLDEN LETTER
"For My yoke is sweet and my burden light."(Matthew 11:30)
Our mission is to restore Christian culture through
education and entertainment.
Because grace builds upon nature, our desire to nurture souls drives our focus on the every day to uplift people of all ages.
OUR STORY
"I like science," my little niece said to me while looking up from a book of tornadoes with her large glasses slipping on her nose.
It was a custom of mine to take nieces and nephews to Barnes & Noble Junior whenever I could to pick a wholesome book or other gift of choice. I've since stopped doing that, in part because there are now so many of them that these escapes would fill my calendar. It also became more difficult over time to explain why I had to say "no" to so many book options.
It's been more than a decade since I began
planting the seeds of Golden Letter Media.
The challenges have increased over the years with books, movies, shows, and toys. What was once an innate sense of metaphysical truth, goodness, and beauty seems to have been stripped away over time, and now what is ugly or frightening is often acceptable.
Something had to be done.
In 2014, I was working for a publishing company as the bookstore and customer relations manager. I would hear from parents and bookstore managers all over the country that they were looking for wholesome books and activities for their children, much more than what our company had been providing. This was not the company's focus, so as a budding voice actor and multimedia designer, I decided to take on this challenge myself as soon as I could. I mapped out a plan, a massive vision. Why not think big? There were so many books available in the public domain and we had a waterfall of stories of the saints available. I had used some resources back in high school recording stories for our local radio station.
I knew they had to be even more easily
available years later.
I approached a Catholic teen author asking if I could start voicing her books. She already had plans in place, but this began an effort that continued over a decade for me, starting and stopping. I even built 2 different websites in 2016 and 2017 which I never published with downloadable coloring pages for every day of Advent and Lent respectively, along with short voice clips. Self-doubt and fear won. The sites remained hidden.
In 2019, I again approached the same author. She said "get started, you've been talking about this for years." I made of list of people who could potentially be a part of this. My sister, Serene Conley, was at the top of that list. She is currently our VP of Brand Experience and runs The Golden Letter Store. I then contacted a developer I had distantly worked with in the past to consult on the project. Today, he is co-founder and CTO of
Golden Letter Media.
Serene and I had grown up knowing the fun of whimsical amusement parks, classic literature, and the quintessential collection of Jane Austen movie adaptations. From the beginning, I knew that when The Golden Letter Store would arrive, it would have to look and feel a certain way, bringing these fun memories together, as well as having a beautiful tree as
a gathering place inspired
by the large tree in our favorite amusement park
combined with the tree of Barnes & Noble.
There is so much meaning in a tree, and it all ties into our mission.
A daring and believing team had formed in 2021. We had 22 people involved in this endeavor. In 2022, we launched our first edition, expecting to continue to fly. Our main developer (not our current CTO) disappeared on launch day. We didn't hear a sound for weeks. We learned that it was a personal crisis that had caused the disappearance, but it was not possible to keep things going as planned, but it was knowing that this vision had originally captured the belief of such a big team that
helped keep the fire going!
With amazing artists, voice actors, other intrepid talent, the true generosity and encouragement of our building owners and so many others,
we've continued to move forward.
We opened our Golden Letter Store doors on December 6, 2025, launched The Golden Letter Magazine on July 1, 2026, and will very soon launch the Golden Letter App:
audiobooks and animations for kids and teens!
Thank you for your support on this exciting adventure!
